GUAP has always been a platform for people with something to say. If you are an aspiring journalist, writer, video creator or storyteller who wants to cover the culture you care about - on your own terms, in your own voice - this is for you.
Journalism is changing. Everyone is chasing clicks, algorithms and the fastest take. We are going the opposite direction. GUAP is building a home for the new age storyteller: long-form, honest, specific and rooted in the communities and creative worlds we cover. Whether you tell stories through words, through a camera or through both - if you care about getting it right and not just getting it out, this is your platform.
We are not looking for people who want to create what they are told. We are looking for people with a genuine perspective, a subject they know inside out, and the drive to tell stories that matter. Whether that is music, film, fashion, sport, culture, identity or anything in between if it belongs in GUAP’s world, we want to hear from you.
What we publish
GUAP publishes two types of content. Both are rooted in the same mission - discovery.
People
Interviews, spotlights and profiles of creatives, communities and culture-shapers worth knowing about. The people and communities doing something real that the world hasn’t caught up with yet. The discovery is the person or the community itself.
Culture
Long-form commentary and deep dives on topics, moments and movements happening in the culture right now. A story with context, perspective and something genuinely worth saying. If you are covering a music release, a film, a cultural moment we want the story behind it or the reaction to it. The discovery is the idea or the angle.
The question for both - Will our audience leave this piece thinking they found out about something or someone they didn’t know before? If yes pitch it.

How commissioning works
Every month GUAP commissions 12-20 pieces from contributors. These land directly in our readers’ inboxes as part of The GUAP Daily - one piece per day, one creator at a time, to a global audience of 50,000+ members who are genuinely plugged into the culture.
Every post is co-authored with the contributor and cross-promoted across GUAP’s social channels giving writers and creators a direct opportunity to grow theirs.
We read every pitch. We commission the work that is right for our audience that month. Submit your pitch and if it is the right fit we will be in touch.
We believe storytellers should be paid. We are building toward that publicly and on a clear timeline. Every membership to GUAP feeds a contributor fund. The fund activates at 1,000 paid members and from that point every commissioned piece is paid and the rate grows as the platform grows.
